My name is Bradford Loomis. I have been a small business owner for 15 years. I am a husband, a father, a former worship pastor, and an entrepreneur. I have been fortunate that my work has taken me all over the country, and while there are so many places and communities that we cherish, we fell in love with the truly charming community of Mt. Juliet. When we settled here, we loved the idyllic sub-urbanity of beautiful green scapes, locally owned small businesses, and access to incredible nature that the city between lakes offered. In my life, I have worked in project development, led ministries, managed teams of people, worked with large and small companies, and directly with the public. I know what it means to provide excellent customer service. 

And unfortunately, I’ve seen what it looks like when poor, short-sighted leadership doesn’t listen to the people. My hometown was a bedroom community for a much bigger, more expensive city, and when the growth exploded, the local leadership sold out to the wealthy developers, overburdening the infrastructure. The traffic exploded, schools grew crowded, and the services couldn’t keep up. Now, I see that happening here. 

When I talk to my neighbors, I hear a consistent refrain. The strain and burden of inflation and the ever-rising prices of nearly everything, coupled with the unrestrained development with little or no consideration for our existing infrastructure, is weighing heavily on our community. And now our property taxes are going up.

 I believe our community is currently facing great change. We need leadership in this city that listens to its citizenry, that can identify and respond to our evolving community needs. I believe in a better Mt. Juliet for all. That’s why I’m running for the office of City Commissioner for Mt. Juliet District 2.
